Jongomero is in the middle of the untouched Ruahaa National Park. Everything is 70km away - at
least. The camp is small, just 8 tents. It is very much in a family-style but comes with amazing
comfort. Lunch is usually all together at one big table next to the river whereby breakfast and
dinner is seperate for each groupe/ couple. We find this a wonderful compromise of sharing
experiences of other guests and still have the candle light dinner atmosphere. Service is
outragious.
As for the safari, a walking safari is a clear must. Molly, the manager and a real bush kid, is super
skilled in nature, both from a siencetist and true enthusiastic angle. Even on our 5th safari we got
to know so much more and in depth knowledge about amazing little things - an amazing
experience. Ah, all not boring, but presented in a “prosa-style” which let one give unshared
attention to Molly.
He welcomed us with: its all there and here. Given the bush its just a bit more challenging to find
everything but still you will see it. He was right. It took us quite some time before we were able to
find the first lions. However we heard them almost non-stop during the night - they were super
close. Elephants, Buffalos in greatest numbers, Impalas with a growing ditensity as the bush went
dryer and dryer over time the animals came closer towards the Ruahaa river.
The camp is superb. Have a look onto their website. Our wildlife pics you find below.
