It would need a renovation i.e. the “walls” of the huts are made of straw mats and do not look too healthy anymore. The floor is made of e bit uneven stones and the bathroom doesn’t look to inviting. Its not all too bad but as it is not really a cheap stay one might expect a bit more polished-up rooms. The reception of the camp is nice – the view to the pond from the veranda is great and usually one can see animals around it. From the near river hippos come very very close to the camp at night but never go in. The staff is extremely considered and attentive. On our final night – actually the second on – (we were the only guests) we were served a dinner on out little terrace of our hut with a complimentary bottle of champagne and a “private” waiter. The hippos had their dinner just a couple of meters away.Certainly – there were tons of insects around but we got used to it (as far as one ever can get) and most important mosquitoes were around in very small numbers. Later they lightened a fire for us and we some more drinks and a late night with just the manager and our guide. Very nice.Wildlife was very similar to Kampamba – no wonder as the 2 camps are very closed to each other. At night we could hear the leopard roaring though and we were taken out immediately by a guide… great initiative – even if we missed it.click here: BACK to Zambia and South-Africa Main Page
